Within the events related to the exhibition More than Meets the Eye: New Research on the Estorick Collection, Claudia Marchese will offer a tour based on The Stories behind the Pictures (Saturday Gallery talk, October 31^st, 2015). The tour aims to trace the crucial passages from the history of some of the 12 paintings on display, from their production until their purchase by Eric Estorick. European exhibition tours, donations failed, transfers of ownership, relationships among artists, art dealers and collectors, who are the people portrayed will be some of the topics discussed in order to show the hidden history of one-century-old paintings.
