FUTURAHMA Research on Sources (Gino Severini) at the “Expression and Sensibility. Art Technological Sources at the Rise of Modernity” Conference

Stuttgart, State Academy of Fine Arts and Design, November 10-11, 2016

img_5583The 7th symposium of the ICOM-CC working group Art Technological Source Research (ATSR), “Expression and Sensibility. Art Technological Sources at the Rise of Modernity“, has focused on the artistic process as manifested in visual and written sources between 1850 and 1940. A contribution by Margherita d’Ayala Valva has illustrated Futurahma’s current research on documents from the Gino Severini archives. The treatise, notebooks and copybooks dating back to the 1920s onwards are presented as a primary source documenting the painter’s everyday painting practice and technical experimentations, his attitude to geometric order and harmony, his bookish knowledge.
