Stefania Stefanelli

Former Researcher in Italian Linguistics at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa (1981-2013), MA in Linguistics at University of Florence, PhD at Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. Stefanelli’s research has specialized mainly on issues relating to literary and artistic language. She has published on the language of avantgardes and neoavantgardes, detecting the linguistic mutual exchange between literature and the visual arts, focusing on the lexicon of Futurist Manifestos and theoretical texts. Her research and publications (Va in scena l’italiano) has furthermore examined theatrical texts, in order to identify the intertwining issues of spoken and recited word. She regularly collaborates with the Accademia della Crusca, where she has coordinated teacher training courses and has organized meetings and conferences on italian theatrical language. She has taught courses at DAMS in Bologna, Università per Stranieri in Perugia, University of Siena and University of Firenze, Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, University of Catania, and Summer courses at the Centro di Dialettologia e di Etnografia CDE in Bellinzona.
