Thanks to the collaboration of the Museo del Novecento with the FUTURAHMA project, our team has started a non-invasive imaging analysis campaign on the Futurist and Metaphysical paintings conserved in the Palazzo dell’Arengario. Works by Balla, Boccioni, Carrà, de Chirico, Morandi, Russolo, Severini have been analyzed with Multispectral Photographic techniques, Scanning Multispectral Infrared Reflectography, and Fluorescence Lifetime imaging (FLIM). At the same moment, initial archival research was conducted to deepen the conservation history of the paintings.
