Francesca Modugno rid

Francesca Modugno è ricercatrice confermata presso il Dipartimento di Chimica e Chimica Industriale della Università di Pisa.
Laureata in Chimica nel 1997, ha conseguito il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Scienze Chimiche nel 2001. Svolge ricerche nel settore della Chimica Analitica con particolare riguardo alle problematiche di conservazione dei Beni Culturali. Svolge la sua attività sperimentale presso il Laboratorio di Scienze Chimiche per la Salvaguardia dei Beni Culturali (SCIBEC). La sua ricerca riguarda lo sviluppo e l’applicazione di procedure analitiche basate su cromatografia e spettrometria di massa, adatte alla identificazione di materiali organici presenti in oggetti di interesse artistico, storico ed archeologico: lipidi, resine terpeniche, materiali proteici, bituminosi e lignocellulosici, resine sintetiche. I suoi interessi includono lo studio delle trasformazioni chimiche e dei processi di degrado dei materiali nel corso dell’invecchiamento, e l’effetto dei parametri ambientali su tali processi. Collabora con istituti e gruppi di ricerca italiani e stranieri e con enti preposti alla conservazione. Partecipa a progetti nazionali ed internazionali nel campo della scienza della conservazione.
