Austin Nevin

Nevin ridAustin Nevin, chimico e restauratore, lavora come ricercatore al CNR-IFN dal dicembre 2011 ed è responsabile scientifico dell’unità CNR-IFN per il progetto FUTURAHMA.
La sua ricerca è incentrata sull’analisi dei dipinti e dei materiali pittorici, così come del patrimonio culturale antico e moderno utilizzando tecniche ottiche e spettroscopiche. È co-autore di oltre 40 pubblicazioni, uno dei curatori della serie di Springer Cultural Heritage Science e fa parte del comitato scientifico dei congressi di LACONA e TECHNART. È il coordinatore dello Scientific Research Working Group dell’ICOM-CC (dal 2011-2014) e Council Member e Fellow dell’IIC (dal 2013). Dopo la laurea in Chimica all’Università di Oxford (2001) e un Master Triennale in Conservazione dei dipinti murali al Courtauld Institute of Art dell’Università di Londra (2004), Nevin ha compiuto un Dottorato di ricerca presso il Courtauld dal titolo “Spettroscopia di fluorescenza e Raman per l’analisi dei leganti a base proteica” (2008). Dal 2004-2007 è vincitore di un Marie Curie Early Stage Training Fellowship presso lo IESL-FORTH (Grecia) dove ha intrapreso delle ricerche per l’analisi dei dipinti mediante laser.
